Here is a picture of our own Wendy "Penelope Pit-Stop" Hoare, who owns that charming voice you have all enjoyed listening to over our phone lines.

She has been our tele-sales person, credit controller, chief filing clerk, best ever tea-maker, and office manager for the past year. Now Wendy is going to "take to the roads" in her little green racing car, as our sales representative, and is keen to meet customers, in the flesh... so to speak.

"Watch out guys" she said, "I can't wait to get my tonneau off and goggles down".

For a while it was questioned why Americatessen had relocated to Wokingham in Berkshire, which is also within shouting distance of Broadmoor Hospital.

Some have said that it is because Managing Dirctor, Damian Curzon-Price feels an air of comfort in this knowledge, and some say he is just a burger short

short of a Happy Meal!

For the past 9 years Mr Curzon-Price has taken part in the London to Paris charity bicycle ride (on various modes of transport) in order to raise funds for the Royal British Legion. 2005 sees the 10th, and celebratory year for this event, and the aforementioned Mr C-P is now one of only 3

people who have completed the 300 mile event every year it has been fun (or cycled!). To mark this milestone, a select few of hardened veterans, and keen cyclists, have taken up the challenge laid down by the organisers... "London to Paris"... AND BACK!! 600 miles in 7 days. Oh, and guess who has accepted that challenge?!

Many of Americatessen's customers have generously supported Damian in this event over the years, and this kindness has never been overlooked. So, throughout the year we we will be promoting "special offers" on certain products with the aim of channeling the proceeds towards the fundraising. This will help towards the Royal British Legion's "Poppy Appeal" and also be a big "thank you" to our customers.

On a final note, it s also hoped that Lauren, Damian's 16 year old daughter will also tackle the outward leg of the journey as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award, making her the youngest participant of this event. And making a father very proud.

Please... help us, support us, and help support others less fortunate than us. Thank you.
